The Peninsula is an all-suite hotel, so what you book is closer to an apartment than a room. There are 110 of them, running from open-plan studios up to three-bedroom Royal Suites with a dining room, and they share the same three things: a kitchen or kitchenette of your own, a lounge with a sleeper couch, and a balcony looking west across the promenade to the Atlantic. Aircon, DSTV, a safe, a telephone and Wi-Fi come as standard, housekeeping takes care of the rest, and if you would rather not cook there is 24-hour room service, a grocery delivery service and two restaurants downstairs.

You will be hard pressed to find a better view from these rooms. We had an 8th floor unit with a jacuzzi deck. Main bedroom was very big and very comfortable. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Loved to pool area and the burgers around the pool are excellent. Loved every minute of our stay.

Consistently good amenities and very, very good and friendly cleaning staff. The multipurpose area which combines access to a mildly heated pool (probably 25-30°C in winter), a sauna and a gym is great. It aptly provides a four star experience overall. The location is great. The views of the ocean are stunning. There are various parks, playgrounds, restaurants and even a market to explore nearby.

What kind of accommodation does The Peninsula offer?

Every one of the 110 units at The Peninsula All-Suite Hotel is a self-catering suite. They run from open-plan studios to three-bedroom Royal Suites, and each has a kitchen or kitchenette, a lounge and a balcony facing the Atlantic.

Do all the suites have a sea view?

Yes. Every suite at The Peninsula looks out over the Sea Point promenade, the Atlantic Ocean and Robben Island. In the larger two-bedroom layouts the view is taken either from the lounge and balcony or from the main bedroom.

How many people can a suite sleep?

It depends on the suite. The smaller layouts take two adults and two children under twelve; the two-bedroom suites take four adults and two children; and the three-bedroom Royal Suite takes six adults and two children. Sleeper couches are standard throughout.

Is there a wheelchair-friendly suite?

Yes. Wheelchair-friendly units are available at The Peninsula on request in more than one suite category. Ask for one at the time of booking so that reservations can hold the right unit for your dates.

Are the kitchens fully equipped?

Yes. Suites have a fridge and freezer, a stove, a microwave, crockery and cutlery, and most have an oven. A grocery delivery service can stock the kitchen before you arrive, and 24-hour room service is there when cooking is the last thing you want to do.

Is housekeeping included?

Yes. Housekeeping services the suites and linen and bath towels are provided, along with swimming towels for the pool deck. A laundry service is available at the hotel for anything beyond that.
