Make sure your devices are fully charged as we explore some of the most photographed places in South Africa.

Cape Town Stadium – Especially built for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Cape stadium is located adjacent to the iconic Table Mountain, making it any traveller’s delight especially when trying to capture the essence of both the mountain and stadium.

Cape Point – Located within the Table Mountain National Park, Cape Point Nature Reserve is declared a natural World Heritage Site. It is often mistaken as the place where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet, whereas Cape Agulhas is where they officially meet.

Simon’s Town – Named after an early governor of the then Cape colony, Simon’s Town is a town rich in history as well as the home of the South African Navy. A popular attraction located to the south is Boulders Beach, a white sandy beach with calm shallow waters which also serves as home to a colony of African penguins.

Durban – Apart from being the busiest container port in Africa. Durban offers tourist attractions such as The Golden mile: a popular stretch with many attractions along the way. There’s no doubt why holiday makers add this site to their bucket list.

Sun City – Characterized by extensive natural and man-made water features and famous golf courses, Sun City is a favourite among local and international holiday makers alike. Many events are hosted here, including golf tournaments and various award ceremonies.

Kruger National Park –
One of Africa’s largest game reserves with a high density of wild animals and is home to diverse bird species. The Kruger National Park is a “go-to” destination for anyone who travels South Africa.

Tsitsikamma –
This nature reserve is located on the Garden Route, Western Cape and Eastern Cape. Tsitsikamma offers visuals within its indigenous forest which is punctuated by its iconic suspension bridge and hiking trails.

Knysna Heads –
Also located along the Garden Route these cliffs separate the Knysna Lagoon from the sea. Known for the unpredictable waters “The Heads” were often the cause of lost boats. Apart from this there is much to marvel at from this lookout point.

Sandton City –
Sandton City is a shopping mall and unlike most of the natural attractions on this list. It finds itself as one of the most photographed locations because of the ever popular Nelson Mandela Square, which houses a 6 metre statue of Nelson Mandela. Unveiled in 2004 it’s the first public statue of Madiba in the country.

St Lucia –
A hub for the Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park, which was declared a World Heritage Site. St Lucia is close to a variety of activities including safari’s and game reserves such as Hluhluwe – Imfolozi Park which is the oldest proclaimed nature reserve in Africa.
